Winter West Coast Swing Dance
This winter, come out and enjoy some casual Swing & Blues dancing at McClintock Distilling in Downtown Frederick, Maryland!
Third Wednesdays (Jan 17, Feb 21, Mar 20) are West Coast Swing:
West Coast Swing is a modern style of swing, it’s slow and smooth.
During class we will be learning 6-count moves in contemporary style.
The DJ will play moderate tempo contemporary pop and r&b music during our social dance.
Tickets include:
Drop-In beginner lesson covering basics starting at 7pm
Social dancing with DJ from 7:45 until at least 9pm
Complimentary water
Exclusive discounted cocktail menu in the distillery (cheaper tickets are offered for anyone too young to drink)

The dance is hosted at McClintock Distilling.
Special discounted cocktail menu - exclusive to dance nights - available in the distillery during dance time.
All ages okay: dancers under 21 get a discount, dancers under 16 must be chaperoned.
The event is dancers only - there will not be any strangers at the bar watching you learn something new.
Winter 2024 Schedule (January through March only):
First Wednesdays (Jan 3, Feb 7, Mar 6) are Lindy Hop / East Coast Swing:
Lindy Hop is the original swing dance, it’s athletic and energetic.
During class we will be learning 6-count moves in vintage style.
The DJ will play jazz, swing, and blues music from the 1920s through 1960s during our social dance.
Third Wednesdays (Jan 17, Feb 21, Mar 20) are West Coast Swing:

During class we will be learning 6-count moves in contemporary style.
The DJ will play moderate tempo contemporary pop and r&b music during our social dance.
Fifth Wednesdays (Jan 31 only) are for Blues / Fusion:
Blues dancing is a collection of movement idioms/styles which developed to accompany blues music.
During class we will be learning basic jukin’ with a partner.
The DJ will play traditional and contemporary blues music during our social dance.
Staying Healthy:
Proof of vaccination is not currently required.
Dancers are welcome to wear masks, but they are not currently required.
Please bring a face mask with you. If someone else is wearing a mask, assume that you need to wear yours when talking and dancing with them.
